- 1881 census shows Martha E. Dumbrill, unmarried age 19, a scholar, as head of household at 33 Wyatt Street, Maidstone, Kent.
Ann May, age 63, is there as a boarder and also Elizabeth Easingham, age 3, as a visitor.
I conclude that Charles Joseph married Martha sometime after 1881 and before the birth of Thomas in 1885.
The only contender seems to be a Charles Woollett who appears in the General Register Sept Q. 1881 ref Maidstone 2a 1031.
